Frequently asked questions
Why use a fluorocarbon leader?
Braided line has little stretch and is sensitive, but it wears easily and is very visible in the water. A fluorocarbon leader on the braid is more abrasion resistant and less visible, so wary fish bite more readily.
Is fluorocarbon suitable for pike?
No. Pike teeth easily bite through fluorocarbon, so for pike use a steel or titanium leader.
