Lures for perch
Lures for perch: light jigs, vibration lures, metal lures, soft plastics and hard baits for perch fishing in lakes, rivers and ponds. Perch often hold in schools, so once you catch one it pays to keep fishing the same spot.
Smaller perch are best caught with ultralight tackle and small lures, while bigger perch will also take larger vibration and metal lures.

Frequently asked questions
Which lures work best for perch?
Small lures of 3–8 cm suit perch: soft plastics on a jig head or drop shot rig, vibration lures, metal lures and small hard baits. Big perch also take larger lures.
Where do you find perch?
Perch often hold in schools near drop-offs, underwater humps, weed edges and cover. Once you catch one perch, keep fishing the same spot, because there are usually more nearby.
What line should you use for perch?
Thin 0.06–0.12 mm braided line with a 0.18–0.25 mm fluorocarbon leader is used most often. Braid transmits gentle bites well, and fluorocarbon is less visible in the water.
