Little Jack Metal Adict typeZERO

The Metal Adict typeZERO is a metal lure from the Japanese maker Little Jack, made for so-called blade jigging. It combines the proven Metal Adict-Zero body with a flat blade system, and the 5, 7 and 10 g sizes match the small baitfish that predators feed on.

On the retrieve the lure wobbles from side to side like a large metal jig, while the flat body flutters irregularly on the fall. The original flat blade at the back adds vibration and flash. The small assist hook is made by BKK, and the hooks are set at two different heights to help hook the fish more reliably and hold an unexpectedly big one.

The maker designed the lure for saltwater fishing, but metal lures of this size also work very well in fresh water.

Key features (manufacturer data):

• 5 g, 41 mm
• 7 g, 46 mm
• 10 g, 51 mm
• Sinking, with a flat blade and a BKK assist hook

What it is for and what tackle to use

• Fish: asp (7–10 g, far from the bank), perch (5–7 g), zander (7–10 g, hopped along the bottom).
• Where to fish: river riffles and pools, drop-offs in lakes, wherever predators hunt small baitfish or chase it at the surface.
• Rod: for the 5–7 g models a light spinning rod with a casting weight of about 2–12 g; for the 10 g model a 5–21 g spinning rod.
• Line: 0.08–0.14 mm braided line with a 0.20–0.28 mm fluorocarbon leader.
• Retrieve: a fast, steady retrieve for asp; lifts and drops near the bottom for perch and zander.
• In pike waters: use a wire leader.

The rod and line recommendations are a guide: they help you choose, but you can also fish with similar tackle you already own.
