Blue Blue Blooowin! 140S – a premium JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) sinking minnow from the Japanese maker Blue Blue, designed for shore fishing for Japanese seabass. Thanks to its long casting, lively action and strong treble hooks, it also suits our waters well: pike in lakes and lagoons, sea trout on the Baltic coast and big asp in large rivers.
The lure is 140 mm long and weighs 23 g. Three tungsten balls inside shift to the tail on the cast, so the lure flies steadily and far even in strong wind.
What sets this lure apart is the Blooowin double action: the lure swims a wide S-shaped path while the body itself rolls with a tight, fast wobble (tight wobble-roll). The combination looks natural but is easy to see from far away. A tight wobble works especially well in cooler, clearer water when fish are more wary.
Key features:
- Length: 140 mm
- Weight: 23 g
- Type: sinking (S)
- Running depth: about 0.7–1 m
- Hooks: 3 size 4 trebles, size 3 split ring
- Tungsten weight-transfer system for long casts
Tips for use:
- On a steady retrieve the lure swims a wide S-shaped path with a tight, fast wobble.
- When jerked, the lure darts sharply to the sides; the Blooowin 140S was designed around this retrieve.
- During pauses the lure sinks, so you can also reach a slightly deeper layer.
What it is for and what tackle to use
- Fish: pike, sea trout, big asp.
- Where to fish: lakes, the Curonian Lagoon, larger rivers and the Baltic Sea coast.
- Size and weight: 140 mm, 23 g.
- Type: a sinking minnow that runs at about 0.7–1 m.
- Rod: a spinning rod rated for about 15–40 g; on the sea coast a longer rod of 2.7–3 m is more comfortable.
- Line: 0.14–0.18 mm braided line with a 0.30–0.35 mm fluorocarbon leader.
- Retrieve: a steady retrieve, jerks and pauses.
- For pike: use a steel or titanium leader.
The rod and line recommendations are a guide: they help you choose, but you can also fish with similar tackle you already own.
